what happened today? for a start wot formation are we playing it seems a little dodgy, plus no offence to sealey or smithy in defence but y not put sealy in da 5 shirt at the back and let kev davies start a match. all we need is someone with pace, kev fits the bill, with fisher, kev and pat up front we should be able to batter them. after last weeks performance micky flynn should be the first name on the teamsheet, he showed us his superb passing ability and the way he can sweep up in midfield. today we must have been desperate with both trav and steve smith going up for a corner each. mick, take a long hard think about this performace and the money we missed out on through the progression in the vase, how long isit since heanor last failed to qualify for the vase i'm sure stan knows. lets have a much better performance next week as today was unprofessionally poor. it was good to see pat doing some of the skills and tricks but he needs strength. lets see sealey at the back sometime soon, a strong defence is always what a good teams built on. i could have done better than some today and most of you know me lol. roll on the r.r.leisure. by the way, and i'm sure most will agree, man of the match should be split between aled biggs (superb in clearing with skill and calmness) and steve smith (fantastic saves and desperate for a win in going up for that corner). COME ON LIONS!

Couldn't agree with you more Heanor_red!!! Wrong system whatever it was supposed to be!!!

Too many players had indifferent games, thats being kind, and thought just turning up was good enough to win it. How wrong as it turned out.

Lacking pace up front and in mid-field with two excellent wide men who can deliver but no one with the pace to get onto the delivery.

Sorry Mick & Co you must think about other alternatives.

I believe Adan Nicholls is three weeks away from being available, can't wait!!!!!

I totally agree with what has been said already about yesterdays game, and begin to wonder if the Management team are watching the same game as us supporters. Where was the logic in substituting the only player in the forward line with pace, for a central- midfield holding player when we are a goal down with 20 minutes to play in a cup-tie?

Please can we look to sign a striker with pace and goal scoring ability, before the season ends early yet again (out of all the cups and sitting in mid-table mediocrity)

Finally lets get some' HEANOR TOWN SPIRIT' into the team ---and quickly !!!

UP THE TOWN !!!!!!!!!!

ok fish might be injured but we still need to be giving kev davies a chance, why not got get elky from the reserves up for a game or 2. hes big and skilful, thats what we need for fish, kev or pat to run off. no offence to pat but he needs to be sat on the wing and let him run, he'l either win the set-pieces for us or he'l get a damn good cross in. get fowkes pushing forward behind the front 2, that way he gets to keep the ball into feet, run and shoot weneva, hes sat in left wingback wilderness. just sign us a striker mick, surely we could raid ripley or somewhere local, sandiacre have a few even though they are the league below, even loan someone in, eastwood, long eaton or ilkeston might be willing, who knows until we ask someone dammit! did any1 even scout the opposition for the vase game, the management werent to blame too much for the loss, as they played what they have used but still, we played awfully against greenwood and scored four with no striker bagging a goal, does that tell you anything. trav needs more instruction from the bench as sometimes he doesnt seem sure what people are meant to be doing, its farsical. the news i heard last friday was that nick hall has signed for arnold, a decent level team. doesnt that show the slightest point that th youngsters are crucial to the success of heanor, i was even tlaking to an ex manager, naming no names but most of you saw him recently, and he said we should be in northern counties ith the fanbase, can't we get a banner made for the management and players saying "we're serious about promotion, are you?" something like that might be the kick up the jacksy they need. anyways, this is turning into a rant and most of you if you've read this far will be feeling very sleepy so even though it was my point about the cup exit lets just focus on being as brilliant in the crowd as we were on saturday, bring on saturday! p.s steve, glad to see we finally agree on something:)

Its interesting we went six games unbeaten yet there have been more comments on saurdays game than there was with the whole six games before put together, just emphasises what the 'Guest' said on one of the earlier topics that people only seem to put anything on this forum if we get beat.
Its often nice to see some praise, if we are not playing well yet still winning surely that is a good sign, because when we do start playing well (and it will happen) you will soon see us climbing this league to where the club belongs.
When the side is'nt playing well it gives everyone a massive boost if the supporters are there to back us up and give us a helping hand, but all most of us heard saturday and a couple of games before (even though we were winning) was moaning from the crowd which doesnt really help us...

In reply to the player, unless you are steve smith, trav or aled can you really say that the supporters should stand and put up with what the rest of you served up on sat, without moaning which by the way is exactly what you are doing because we didn't do what you expected. Some of us have heard all these promises about how things will get better for the last 5,10,15,20 etc. years and have they NO!!!!!

no one more than us (the players and management) was more disappointed with the performance and defeat in the vase. i agree its only right that the supporters have their say on how we perform but i also have 2 say where r your comments when we win? as 4 the striker situation, do supporters really believe that the management r not tryin 2 do something about it? mick, mark and myself r constantly looking 4 a proven goalscorer who will benefit the team.
as 4 the comments on which league we shud b playing in, that has nothing 2 do with the playing staff past and present or any of the previous management teams.
lets all pull together and c if we can move the club forward.

Not coming on to moan about individual players but I did moan about the system we are playing after the Kimberley match. In my opinion you have to have players really suited to it to play a wing back system add to this that we are trying to play 3 upfront as well it just means the 2 in midfield are constantly left short and exposed particularly if the ball doesn't stick upfront. Both Brett and Scott are good players but both players either sat or went at the same time, unless they either communicate better or you've agot a Flynny whose happy to sit and break up play while the other goes then you get what we saw on Saturday, massive gaps between the midfield and attack or between the midfield and defence.
These players have talent without a doubt, some of them I feel are not at the moment being used in their best positions, there is a certain element of the management having to shuffle because we are short of a right back and finisher, but I'm sure if we all think back, a serious amount of opportunities are created by Graham Fowkes taking on the full back towards the byline and crossing, he is no use to the attack on the edge of his own penalty area defending. Too many crosses are put in at an angle from just inside the oppositions half making it too easy to defend against. Anyhow I think we have a talented bunch and when it does click someone is going to get a real hiding.
Heanor_Red, As a Rams fan I found your "are you serious" poster suggestion quite amusing, I believe that's something the tricky trees board used for their fans, not much of a success as they were relegated at the end of that season. Think the Lion's should give it a miss lol Very Happy

thanks for some reply sealey, its appreciated that a member of the management team can reply! if any fans knows of a striker at a different club that seems unhappy there or something the management would listen wouldnt they. as for the banner at forest it was actually used last season just before megson got sacked and then something special happened lol. i honestly think elky should be given a chance to play a few as we are struggling and he is another very able option, giv him a chance:) i understand what player and sealy have written about moaning after a loss and nothing after a win, it is sometimes hard to write on here though after a win because usually theres too many good points to mention. its just one of them things lol

Heanor have two different sections of support, the home supporters who only come to home games, and those of us who travel hundreds of miles & spend hundreds of pounds following the lions. this away suppoprt very rarely give less than 100% for the team. We always outnumber the home fans. So next time it's freezing cold, wet & miserable and we are a long way from home we will be there cheering you on. The moaners will be at home in front of the fire.

No point in having a banner reading 'We're serious about promotion, are you?' We couldn't go up if we won 5-0 every week and the league by 20 points. The ground isn't acceptable

well, Guest, whoever you may be! its a known fact theres £125,000 in a fund for the new changing rooms its just taking the council and our dormant chairman way too long to get the planning permission. not going to start something which isnt needed but for the club to move forward we need fresh faces on the board, no offence to anyone whos on the board. we could do with an investor willing to put money in. anyways, paul, would you be able to name and shame the people that constantly hide behind the name Guest as its getting annoying, if people use the forum they should either use the same 'nickname' like myself and pheasant plucker to name one other, or use their name. if people arent willing to use a name all the time then posts shouldnt be aloud on

It was actually me that made the comment about the ground, I just didn't log in.

I know all about the fund thanks, I was on the committee when the money was being consolidated and the initial conversations with the Council were taking place. I also know all about the planning permission saga and how many times we've had to put an application in. I'm not sure you're fully aware about the implications of DDA legislation which made our earlier plans obsolete.

I admit that this is taking far too long, I've been watching the team for over 10 years and we've been promised new facilities since the old stand was condemmed but personal attacks on the chairman aren't going to solve anything. If he took his money elsewhere we'd be playing in the MRA. There isn't, to my knowledge, a Knight in shining armour waiting in the wings to sort all this out.

Your passion for the club is commendable , you could always volunteer for the committee and help to make the changes you want.
