I have heard it on the grape vine that Rainworth have just paid Sutton Town £1600 for Danny Naylor a centre midfielder who Sutton only offered £20 per game?

I don't know about a transfer fee, but they have signed Mark Hales who used to be Shirebrooks goalie on a contract and one or two others who will not be playing for peanuts.
They are also having a new stand built and have come to an arrangement with the cricket club to make their ground 4 sided and are going all out for promotion to the NCEL this season.
The mark of a progressive club or spending recklessly? I suppose we will see.
I like the phrase "come to an arrangement with the cricket club". Reality they (the MW) have chucked the cricket club off the ground and cricket will never be played there again.
A Club prepared to sit on it's ar$$es and do nothing. Week in week out, with an out of touch commitee. You all go on here whinging about things but non of you do anything about it.Over the years you have had some great players but you are still in the same League as you might be in years to come. You as a club have a great following they deserve better.Don't be envious of a club that is trying to go some where do it for yourselves and your supporters
Steve,
Thankyou for being so honest but it had to be said that there are to many clubs sitting on their laurels. I think alot of clubs would welcome your imput and energy do not get left behind.Heanor have had the chances to acheive to greater things but as yet they still in the cmsl and that is where they are going to stay. With ground grading as it is they will be the same as SOUTHWELL (we don't pay but can go no further ) Ratcliff Cannot go up (Great Team set up STAGNATING) Holbrook no chance with the ground,Dunkirk same three of those are at the top after the first game.Out of the CMLS I think that there might be 4 teams that have the ability to step up to NCEL. Being truthfull you should of done it years ago Good luck for the season but it must so frustrating for you and all your fans they need some new blood in there to sort it I am so sorry for your following fans any club would be proud to have them Keep the faith who knows when one door closes another window opens GOOD LUCK:wink:
Yes we should have done it years ago but as you implied it takes the will and determination of those in charge to succeed. We possibly would have succeeded under a more progressive looking Committee.
Changing the Team Management almost every year does'nt help and having to almost rebuild from scratch and finish in a respectable position is no mean feat. Each year we appear to either just fail to finish high enough in the league or the ground rating system has changed and we dont comply or some other excuse for not being in a position to be promoted.
