Benwell, you are a joke! You wouldnt even get on the bench for the Reserves. You are quite possibly the worst player in a long time to wear a Heanor Town shirt, have you not heard the fans slate you week in week out. How you have remained in contention for a shirt is beyond beleif. As for your issue with the reserves, i am led to believe the game was offciated by a first team player who had no control over the game what so ever. I hear the game only got heated when a first team player responded to a reserve players comments by saying, ' you cant talk to me like that, your only a fu**ing reserve' what sort of attitude is that? The first team has to many big timers who need a serious reality check. Thats not saying they all are but players like you Benwell stirring trouble on this site need ditching. To put it politely, YOU ARE SHIT!!! |

There you go again you arrogant idiot!! Get a grip of yourself. despite what you think about the reserves standard of football, you still wouldnt get a shirt. You are obviously unaware a few of the reserves have played for and against the first team in previous years and could do a hell of alot better than you. |

Ricky,
Not wishing to get into the silly slanging off of individuals you seem to have lowered youself into but I am suprised you refered to me as Stephen in your earlier post. Not many people at the club know my full name and spelt with a ph and not a v, interesting! I get the funny feeling that someone in the club might have had a hand in the big hole that you appear to have in your back and is operating you just like a puppet!!!!
My point was that the club has two teams the first team and the reserves, it has been like that for as many years as I care to remember and players moved between the two sides either first teamers after injury having a run our in the reserves or reserves who are showing sign as having the potential for a possible move up to first team football. This is what happens to most clubs who have two or more teams from Man U down.
If what Heanor_Red is saying is correct and no reserves have been allowed to sign forms for EMCL and visa versa for the first team in CML then surely something is not quite right. Even ,as you say, the reserves where "a bit too strong" in the tackling for you its a bit of a poor excuse to isolate them from possible first team football because of one bad tackle. There is little point in these players, who turn out for the reserves each week, bothering unless it is because they want to wear the Lions shirt, win games and give their all for their manager Elkie. If this is the case then some of the first team "regulars" ought to take a leaf out of their book and put the same sort of effort in as you all did at the Ellistown match.
It will be interesting to see what the line up will be when the three absentees from the Ellistown match return into the reconing! Can the Manager really change a winning side?

It is a positive the Reserves are doing so well and credit to the coaches!
How can a player from the SAME club be so against his fellow mates, both trying to achieve the same goals. To win football matches.
A total lack of respect, the management must deal with this? |

First of all, in writing this I appreciate it is a fans website, and everybody is entitled to their views. I also dont prescribe to the idea that somebody's opinion is more valid than anothers based purely on footballing ability. I've purely come on here to defend a team mate who is currently receiving some unmerciful stick.
I have only been at the club a short time and am throughly enjoying it. The management, players and club members have all made me feel very welcome and it is a privallege to play at a club with such a good infrastructure.
Whilst it is not my job or place to comment on the reserves, I think it is terrific that they are doing so well, so long may it continue.
In reference to Mr Benwell, I would like to make a couple of points.
1.) I've played with Ricky at 3 clubs, and he is one of the most dedicated guys i've come across. I have NEVER attended a training session that Mr Benwell hasn't been present at. That sort of committment to a football club should surely be praised not abused.
2.) Despite the 'Loyal Lion's words, Ricky is a very talented footballer, who breaks down play well and has a good touch. Although Ricky's chances have been limited recently, since i have been at the club his performances from the bench against Ellistown and St Andrews were superb and i defy anybody who disagrees with this.
3.) As a player posting on here lines you up for all kinds of abuse, but Ricky, understanding you as fans or club members' frustration, comes on here to explain, defend or give an opinion on matters from within the camp. He does this because he cares. Cares about his football, the team and fundamentally the club. Of course he would never admit to this 'coz he's a geezer innit!' But surely he should be applauded and ecouraged by contributors in doing what he's doing as supposed as people using this a cheap shot to personally abuse him.
Now I'm not defending Ricky for retaliating to some of the comments aimed at him or us, but he posts because he is passionate. I have written this because i am passionate, and I know the fans that post on here are passionate. Surely it's better for the club, if that passion is directed into supporting mr benwell, supporting mr bennett, supporting the reserves and supporting the club. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, although if you come on here and try to get under my skin; all be it using a highly alliterate pseudo-name to do so, it wont work.
regards,
Sam Ogrizovic

As a outsider who, keeps a close watch on all local football, the comments placed on this forum are doing the football club no good. I have a few friends who play for the reserves, and a fair few could play much higher if they chose to, but prefer to play together. Elkie has done a great job with the reserves, the slanging match is ridiculous and needs sorting behind closed doors.
Heanor have some good lads in both sides, i hope you can build bridges between both teams, either way don't sort it in public. Good luck to the whole CLUB. its time Heanor was back on the football map. Great club, Ground and supporters |
