Just finished reading the drivel in this weeks "NEWS" what exactly is he up to?
Everyone knows that he doesn't like Andy Freeman but to suggest that his own personal feelings have any standing with others "on the terraces" is as misguided as his knowlege of the beautiful game.
If heanor are playing poor football which lacks motivation from the sidelines as quoted, why are local clubs looking to steal so many of our players?
I would suggest Mr Wilton sticks to weaving carpets instead of weaving lies based on personal feeling hidden behind "terrace" talk.
A thorn in Heanor's side for years, as one old bird to another, may I suggest it's time he "plucked off" and watched someone else!! |

Pluck Me!
Thanks to the joys of the internet I too read said article on-line today from my secret lair in sunny Nottingham.
I'm afraid I have to agree. It's really time our local newshound got over the fact that Bill Fossey isn't managing Heanor any more. If he thinks that the Lions play the long ball, I suggest he goes to watch a few Northern Counties East games. They give a whole new meaning to the word!!!
It's also a fact of life that clubs far bigger than ourselves find talented youngsters prized away from them to play at a higher level - you have to be realistic about these things. If they choose to go, good luck to them and thanks. |

in the heanor teams i had the pleasure of playing 4 he always had 2 have ago at the players instead of getting behind them. (unless u were 1 of his favourites) |

if stan moaning about why we aint progressing its because we have mardy gits like him each week moaning... its a known fact that heanor play better when the fans are behind them. how can the team be full of confidence when the local paper has a chump like him slagging the players, the tactics and the management off each week. any way we could sack him? could we get a petition on the go or something... cheers up stan u don't want any more wrinkles, you look like a prune already |

stan is one of the moaners i wrote up about. it is people like him who decreases confidence with jibes about the management. hopefully, more optimistic views will drown out the pessimistic views. _________________ DaveH |

It seems like only yesterday that my feathers were ruffled by our local pen regarding his criticisms, it seems we're off again this week.
Please judge for yourselves as I think I might be becoming obsessed by it!
"Freeman Under Pressure" from who?, "friction between club and supporters" where?, "A Heanor team struggling without leadership and shape for the last 5 matches" "Confidence will be low" I wonder why? and the final literary masterpiece "The simple conclusion is that if people don't start to pull together there won't be a club. Perhaps then everyone will understand"
WELL DONE STAN, PROOF READ WHAT YOU PUT EVERY WEEK, STOP THE SUBSCRIPTION TO "CONTRADICTIONS R US" AND PULL TOGETHER!!!

Having read this week`s Heanor News,do other members of the Independant Supporters feel,as I do,that some form of properly formulated response should be forthcoming. I would like to attend a meeting with one agenda item ie.a reply to some of the criticisms levelled at us.The meeting would enable all input from members to be included,so as to give a more balanced view to interested parties.
If we ignore this issue these comments will become Gospel truth to people whose only access to information regarding the Lions is via the `News. _________________ Der Geistfahrer |

I agree with comrade Brett that the time has come to voice the opinions of the TRUE SUPPORTERS within the local press. It is bordering on slander what is being written about the relationship between the Supporters Club and the Club Commitee, and I can conclusively confirm, having attended a meeting with Chairman Mr. McCulloch and his commitee recently, that they are 100% behind us in anything we do towards the betterment of Heanor Town Football Club. Hopefully we will be having a meeting in the next week to discuss this unneccesary sabotage of our club.
Anyway, see you all (THE TRUE SUPPORTERS) at Barton on Saturday.
Keep Smiling and UP THE LIONS! |

Stan is a long standing supporter who uses his column to express a personal opinion, which he's entitled to do, but never makes it obvious that this is the case. There's been more than one letter in the 'News' distancing the club from his comments and I'm sure there will be more. He cannot claim to be the "Voice of the Club".
Heanor Town has the best supporters in the league. Stirring up trouble and driving metaphorical wedges between people and organisations is not responsible journalism in my opinion.
Congratulations and thanks to everyone who is trying to help the Club in whatever way they can.
Up the Lions!! |

To be fair, out of all the old moaning whiners who concregate in certain areas of the stand he is possibly the only one who can write, so he has to put it to some use somewhere. |

From now on, if somebody standing at the side of you is moaning about certain players, the team or whatever, tell them to shut the f**k up and get behind the team, tell them we need positive vibes coming from the stand not negative. Make sure other people watching the game can hear you and hopefully they wiil back you up. and then poke him in the eye!!! _________________ UP THE LIONS!! |

I hope all of our followers manage to read the "News" this week, I always find it a little sad when our local scribe let's his own personal feelings colour his weekly offering.
In a world of contradictions we are praised for our young side reaching the club's highest position for 3 years, in previous weeks the club have been criticised for having too many young players, and this week the management are criticised for not utilising the young reserve team players!! Lee Fowler is rightly praised for his dedication, quality and devotion to HTFC in recent years, but I remember him getting very similar treatment to Andy in the local press when he was manager himself.
I recently listened to Stan at the home game with RR Leisure and all that came out of his mouth for the entire second half was "I wish he'd clear off and let us get a good manager in". Mr Wilton like all of us is entitled to his opinion, but to use his newspaper column to discolour and poison the general populus is, I feel wrong. If any neutrals were ever thinking of finding a local game on their free Saturday afternoon's and they came across a copy of "the news" the distorted reporting would certainly send them elsewhere.
In my own view this forum is for opinion, the local newspaper is for reported fact. Now that would be refreshing! |
