I have to take full blame for this result on the chin. It was purely down to me. I had a nightmare drive, going the wrong way and then hitting an RTA.
I feel very sorry for the lads and Mick, they did all they could to turn this game round but at the same time I'm very annoyed with the referee. I confirmed I was having problems an hour before KO, and we requested a 15 min delay which the referee declined. Many times i've been on the receiving end of visiting teams delayed and on each occasion the game was delayed.
I thought the lads played very well once we were back to 11. After being 2 goals down the motivation and desire to win this game was for all to see. Even down to 10 men, we continued to work hard and went for the win. A draw was not goodenough but we cannot blame Mick or the team. This one's definitly down to me. It will not happen again.

As for the game, I was most pleased about how we kept it simple in the second half. We needed to get the ball quickly to the forwards and midfield and press the ball. This we did. Never at any time did we settle for a draw. Despite losing a man with 25 mins left and losing 3-2, we wanted to win. I felt we deserved to win this game and I have no doubt we would have if I hadn't been late with players.
The support was great once again. The lads always mention the support in the dressing room after. Thank you.

Finally I apologise to supporters, Mick, and the lads. Mick is trying very, very hard to build this team and he doesn't need me letting him down like that. Believe me, we are very organised on and off the ptch but no manager can legislate for his assistant arriving late. I will be punished in the pocket by Physio John and Mick.
I'm expecting a barrage of comments but I think I've said all I can. No excuses.

No point having a pop at you Mark, shit happens, its just very frustrating for us the supporters, we definately would have won this match no question but what can you say about the lads, especially 2nd 45, they were brill and like you said they wanted to win this game so much, well played lads. I thought young Tom Williams goal was great but bloody hell what about Gizza's, top drawer!!!

Anyways we're all behind you and Mick, get em fired up for Saturdays game and lets get back on the winning trail!!

fair comments mark, its refreshing to have someone running this club who will openly take blame, it was good to watch training last week and to see how well they players get on with yourself and mick. what pauls said about firing them up for saturdays right but dont forget about last night too! we need a win v prims to try and get some chance of silverware:D

We really want this against Prims tomorrow. I think it will be a difficult game on a tricky pitch.
Some team news for you.
Unfortunately Blaney is still out through injury but we're hoping to see Sean smith and Chris seale both return from injury.
Young defender Lee Stafford (released from Burton Albion last year) is also returning from injury, sustained in the second half when he came on in his debut against GM. He won't be included in the squad though this week. He is a player we want to look at. Very quick and released from Burton Albion last year. At only 19 he could have a bright future.
We also await news from a player we put seven days in for last week. I'll let you know more on that when we know.
The palyers I got there late Saturday by the way were: Giz, Karl Yeomans, Roffey and Patch.
Tom Williams was sent off. Don't know how, but there you go.
