With such a shambles in front of him every week how long will he put up with it ? Are we to lose the best keeper in the league ? I hope not BUT!!!!!

no problem with steve but surely the best goalkeeper in the league would have kept more than one clean sheet in umpteen games no matter what team there in!

Steve i have a great deaal of admiration for you as a very good keeper but sometimes it seems that all the defence have not played together before and being the last line of defence it shows but it is a team game and\we should not be looking at all the downs but with the changes it looks like we can now start going up the league with such a good squad.i wont be there on Saturday but Gedling blow hot and cold and i am sure we can give them something to think about like 3-0.

I have to say I don't understand this thread at all.
I certainly haven't seen a better keeper in this league, but either way that's totally irrelevant.
What's the point in saying our keeper isn't the best in the league and even he would admit it? What exactly do you want him to say? Goals have been conceded because defensively the team have been weak at times, to state that if he was the best keeper in the league why hasn't he kept a clean sheet is a rather baffling statement. When you've had as many attempts on goal against you as Steve has you can hardly expect the keeper to save everything.
It just seems to me a strange attempt to undermine the most consistent player the team has had this season, certainly in the games I've seen.
I'm afraid I just don't follow the logic at all.

Look at the man of the match awards in the programme (if you buy one).

Steve seems to have won it rather a lot.

I'm sure he doesn't get it for picking the ball out of the net so it must be for the half a dozen (at least) cracking saves he pulls off most games.

i really dont understand where this link has come from but obviously someone aint a lover of the white boots? lol. Confused
anywhoo thanks for the support netherfield lion good to know somebody appreciates my efforts.
and in reply to heanor red thats two clean sheets now. thanks. and last season at borrowash i went about 700 minutes without conceding, or something like that anyway. Razz

lets forget about petty subjects like this and concentrate on climbing that league and going on another run of wins. Laughing

no problem matey Very Happy its all a laugh for me anyway, i would like to keep more clean sheets just like a striker would like to score more goals. and i accept critism when constructive. sometimes you have to look at some things from a goalkeepers point of view though and when wingers are getting to the line crossing it in and the striker has a tap in what am i supposed to do Confused . and in all honesty i'd say 60% of the goals conceded have all come from that type of play i hold my hands up to the goal against stapenhill and two against bottesford. any one else thinks any different come and tell me in the club after the game.
