I thought we had avery good first choice keeper in steve smith why the doubt? dean has already played in goal this season but only as a stop gap.have I missed something? has steve left since sat? or have you just not been paying attention.

Why all the interest in who is first choice keeper. I thought that position was filled by the very capable Steve Smith who has played very well to date. What we should be discussing is "WHO IS GOING TO SCORE US SOME GOALS ?" after the number of chances that were missed on Saturday, resulting in the loss of two points which were there for the taking.
Welcome back Tom !!!!!!!!

Heanor have been lucky over the years having highly competent and in some cases excellent goalkeepers.
Steve Smith, without a shadow of a doubt is going to fall into the excellent catergory.
He could do nothing about the first goal on Saturday and the second goal came from around a defenders legs and bobbled just infront of his arm, hence the reason it span so much before dropping in.
His positioning and control of his area particularly from crosses is excellent and his general distribution is far superior to most keepers, certainly those I've witnessed at Heanor over the last 10-12 years.

I echo the earlier post, let's worry about goalscoring not stopping because this team is playing some great stuff. Frodingham's goals should have been consolations on Saturday as we should have been five up before their first!

Nothing wrong with the lad. Played for some good teams and was unlucky on Saturday. Watch how many points he'll be worth to us this season.

Now if we just had as striker ....

did someone say tom w is back with the faithful? deano was brought back out of semi retirement to play as and when, a bit like sealey lol. we need a big player up front like craig charityw as a few years back, just we need someone with the ability to hit the back of the net, i would offer to play but i wouldn't want to show anyone up Rolling Eyes , mick and his crew seem to have the tricks up their sleeve and kev davis needs all the support that can be mustered up from the stand, when he's confident he scores! lets keep beind them!
