Just been on the Amber Valley BC website and have noticed the there is yet another planning application in for new changing rooms at The Town Ground!!!!! Application No AVA/2006/0760 dated 30th June 2006.

As there is already current planning permission for the New Changing Rooms could someone advise why another application is necessary?

So either no one is interested or willing to comment on my last post.

As far as the comment from Paul Morley in the topic on Bret Adul where Paul appears to have lost confidence in the progress of the changing rooms. I can say that I have been told (from a very good source) no not our local hack! that the next move, apart from the granting of Planning Permssion, which I assume is little more than a rubber stamping excersise, is for the club to agree and sign a new lease.

But please correct me if my informant ion is false and I am wrong!

Since my earlier post of 26th April I have heard very little on the "New Changing Room" situation well, in fact, bu**er all! Has anyone else heard owt?

I have just arrived back from hols and have had a miserable time as I have had to save twenty quid just in case they are built and I loose. On my return I had 40 Euros left in my back pocket. I am saving them just in case I have a mad rush of blood and up the bet. At the present time that equates to around thirty quid. You never know I might be tempted to increase my wager before too long!!!! Wink

It's around nine months since I started this strand and to-date I have heard nothing positive from the club or council for that matter on the Changing Room saga.

What's the latest "official" position of the club Mr Secretary?

The thirty quid (40 euros) is burning a hole in my pocket and I have just booked my next holiday. Any chance I might have to pay out before the end of the season? Wink Wink

P.S There is still time for the bet to be increased!! I was always the big risk taker!!!!

I heard at last Saturdays game that at the Committee meeting held the Tuesday before, that the plans for the new changing rooms were shown to the members of the supporters club who attended and, as I understand it, planning, finance etc was in place (I reported this back in late Feb/early March). I further understand that for the works to commence the committee had only to negotiate and sign the lease.

Not being a betting man, (£1 lucky dip on the lottery & £1 on the HTFC matchday raffle) I have predicted that the new changing rooms will not be completed and used by HTFC by the end of next season (2006/07). I have already pledged, with Kip, £10 to the supporters club funds if they are!

I have now had second thoughts about this and have decided that I was probably a little hasty on Saturday and would now wish to change my mind and make it £20!!!!!!!!! Wink Wink

I sincerely hope I am £20 lighter by this time next year!

My prediction of exactly one year ago appears to be sound and my twenty quid safe in my pocket, as the new changing rooms look as far away as they did 10 years, or so, ago.

My question to either AVBC and/or The Committee is, What are the reasons (excuses) for the lack of progress this time?

It's a good job we aren't in a position to be considered for promotion this season or I dread to think of what the excuses would be never mind the finger pointing between HTFC and AVBC. It would probably blamed on GLOBAL WARMING Wink

I may be wrong, but as I understand it the CMFL is about to be re-classified a step 6 league and as such the existing ground will not need upgrading to meet this criteria.
This will then put it on level par with NCE Div 1 (and if anyone has had the missfortune to see any NCE football whilst Heanor have been without games you would all wonder what the chasing of promotion has been about). Promotion would then be direct to NCE Premier.
I believe that becoming step 6 would give access to additional available football trust funds on a 50/50 basis.

If this is/has been in the committees/AVBC minds then it would obviously potentially double the existing money available for refurbishment.

I'm not saying this is what will happen, but it would make sense regarding the delay.

On a plus note, what an excellent performance on Saturday in almost slap stick comedy conditions Very Happy
