as i was walking round the hallowed town ground this afternoon i heard some unneeded comments about clipstones rightback. no matter how much of a diver he is heanor are not a prejudice club and the fans shouldnt be either, as soon as any player steps onto the pitch it doesnt matter what ethnicity he is as long as they can kick a ball. lets not get the club a bad name hey people.

The 'dive' in question was easily visible from the stand and if it wasnt a dive then why did the ref feel he needed to talk to him about it ?. If it was a dive then why did he do it , he was easily the fastest man on the pitch (both sides) and looked to be a very capable footballer.
That aside Heanor has a bad enough reputation for racism (the town not the team) and i agree there is no place for it in football and was sorry to hear offensive chants from some of the fans.

Just to clarify, I was in the middle of the stand and only heard one comment all game that could be construed as racist, and this was from an old bloke (maybe 70 ish) who probably didn't even realise he was doing it. That's no excuse at all and you often find it's the really old blokes who are the worst just because things were different in their day!!
All of the other chants were at a "cheating" player (who was actually a pretty decent footballer) who did make a meal of the challenge, and nothing to do with his ethnicity.

We have, and hopefully will have again, some excellent players whose skin just happens to not be white, Lee Thomas, Gary Ricketts, Dale Gordon etc. This is a football game with a mixture of cheats, good players, crap players and rubbish officials. Let's keep the chat positive and in perspective. UP THE LION'S

sadly we are always going to get comments like this at football matches regardless of colour, weight or just pure uglyness! its how the games gone over the last ten years, you will never stop it unless you hire bouncers and remove them from the ground and how many clubs can affor that? heanor coudnt afford a bouncer at mothercare!
