I must agree with the posts on here, you are an unreconisable side from last season. You were a very good footballing side and in my opinion the best side in the supreme that we played last season.

You have the best supporters in our leaague and on todays showing you deserve more from the playing side of your club. I know you have had your heart ripped out by your ex-manager leaving and taking players with him and i hope things turn round for you because as i say the supporters deserve better.

I thought todays match was good from our point of view because we won and created chances but not good from a footballing point of view for both sides, any way enough of my ramblings and i hope you can turn it round and become the side you were last season.

The only player who came out of todays match with any credit was the goalkeeper.

The performance by the back four was possibly the worst I've seen in 10 years supporting the Lions and but for some comical finishing from Gedling we would have been well and truly hammered.

No leaders, no strength, no ideas.

Please sort it out.

I have said my piece on the Gedling game elsewhere on this site but I just wonder what players of recent past would make of it? Players such as Pressy. Wes, Townie, Pete Davis to name but a few. I don't think they would stay around for long playing at this standard and my concerns are that the good players we have already and any that are thinking about joining will probable have second thoughts and go elsewhere.

Can't see the likes of Robbie Briscoe turning out many more times for the Lions if this is the standard of football we are churning out!!

Only a handful of years past when "Old Silverback", Bill Fossey was Manager, I remember around thirty players of all standards turning up for the first pre season training session and all wanting to sign for the club. He was able to pick a team from the first day of the season that was able to compete with th likes of Shirebrook, Sutton etc.

I think it was that year we visited Gedling M.W. in a preseason frendly and since that time not only have they progressed on the pitch but their facilities have improved tremendiously, credit to them!!!

Someone please tell me what's gone wrong at Heanor?

Steve, you have asnswered your own question? Like you said when fossey was in charge whether you liked him or not, he knew how to put a side together. The side that included Davis,Flannagan,Wes,Townie,Sharp & Preston - What a side that was but it all seems to have done down hill! Get Fossey back at the helm!!

There's not much to look forward to.. 1point from a possible 9 and no strikers who look like scoring? I know it's early days but we need to turn things around quickly before the rot sets in.

this is pathetic, i'm one of the younger followers of the lions and i'm hearing all you 'older' ones moaning, people moan about no younger people in the ground to watch the games and all you do is moan about unneccecary things, so what is the srikers don't look like scoring? we've got another 35 league games to go... how long did it take us to settle over the past umpteen seasons, if you want to moan then start after the FA Vase game on 23rd september, thats a good distance into the season is it not, wheres the support gone for Mick, Gary and Chris? lets lift it hey?!

People are forgetting we have played 3 teams that are all expected to be up there come May, take into consideration the games are away from home as well!!. It's not fair in my opinion to keep banging on about Fossey, thats in the past so lets get on with the future ( lets get behind the new management team and let them know we're behind them all the way ) I think the supporters need to get behind the team more and give them vocal encouragement, moaning and whingeing aint gonna get us anywhere so lets hear you all at the Radford game,ok.

Paul take off the rose tinted glasses and look at what was on offer on Saturday! It was pretty poor to say the least. Heanor Town teams should be able to compete with any in this league from day one. Remember Gedling have draughted in almost as many new faces as we have but the won convincingly!

I have no problem with the current management I have met Mick at pre-season training on a number of occasions, unlike some I could mention.
Nice guy with a lot of knowledge of the game. He has had a difficult time and players have made him promises and not kept them, so I understand.

I also understand some of his problems arise from being appointed to the job only a few days before going on holiday for two weeks and the departure of many of last seasons regular first teamers it is even more difficult. But when you apply for a job you have to consider all of these things before hand and put in place contingancies to prevent this sort of problems arising or if it does to minimise the impact.

When I refered to Bill Fossey I had no intention of canvassing for his return. I know Bill would not want to return whilst Heanor are playing at this level and he made this quite clear on Saturday. I was making the point that because of his standing within local football and footballers there are lots of players who respect him and will follow him, not unlike what happened with Mr Freeman and a number of last seasons players.

We the paying public have the right to critise when it is relevant and I believe one point from a possible nine is unacceptable and I think the Management Team should know what has been dished up so far is not good enough!!!!

Thumped at Southwell, mixed fortunes at Rainworth (good second half) and hammered at Gedling need I say any more?

Despite all that I will be at Radford Tuesday evening supporting them as usual!!!

UP THE LIONS

I totally agree with Steve that what we have witnessed so far this season is quite simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!

We, the supporters of this club, have had to endure some dreadful performances over the past few years, but Saturdays showing at Gedling must rank as one of the worst in the clubs history.

At Southwell there looked some sign of cohesion between the players.

At Rainworth there was a lot of effort to get back into a game that was lost at half-time.

At Gedling there was little sign of either cohesion or effort, let alone any basic skill in some departments.

In other words we started off bad and are getting worse.

Please lets sort it out before its too late !!!!!!!!

Can we have some feedback from the Management about how they feel the season has gone so far ???????

Come on chaps , take the criticism as it is intended, for the benefit of Heanor Town.

Lets hope for a big improvement at Radford on Tuesday.

See you all there.

as part of the management team i can say that we fully understand, accept and agree with the feelings of the supporters who have expressed their views. we r not happy with the way things have gone and intend 2 put things right as soon as possible. the heanor supporters r by far the best in the league if not the best in local football and we welcome and encourage your views and thoughts on everything associated with heanor town fc good and bad. if u r not happy with things let us no. if u c something u r happy with then let us no also. this is your club u r entitled and encouraged 2 have your say.
as 4 saturdays fiasco, i take full responsibilty because i had 2 drop out at very late notice due 2 very personnel reasons leaving mick no time 2 find a suitable replacement. my apologies 2 everyone connected with the club.
we hope we can look 4ward 2 your continued support
